The CardMan 5125 is a dual interface
PC-linked desktop reader that reads the unique card number from an HID proximity
card and reads / writes to virtually any contact smart card. The CardMan 5125
works with existing HID proximity cards; there is no need to re-badge to
implement new applications. The dual interface feature economically supports
end-user environments where both HID proximity and contact smart card technology
may be needed.
Purpose of a Dual Interface Reader: As needs within the organization
change, the addition of contact smart card capability allows users to increase
security and add functionality without upgrading their desktop readers. In
addition, the technology design incorporated in the CardMan 5125 meets the
requirements of most IT directors and software providers. As the reader is PC/SC
and Microsoft WHQL compliant, proximity capability is easy to integrate.
Supports HID Proximity Cards: Many organizations use an HID
proximity card for building access and as a corporate or student ID. Based on a
125kHz RFID interface that reads the unique number from HID proximity cards the
CardMan 5125 allows organizations to implement new PC-linked applications
without the need to re-badge cardholders. From a 26-bit format to a Corporate
1000 format and everything in between, the CardMan 5125 is compatible. The USB
connection makes installation fast. The versatile reader design offers users a
variety of mounting and card presentation options. Simply choose a software

proximity card for new applications.
Supported Applications: The CardMan 5125 allows users to
