The
Internal Micro SATA (also known as mSATA) UDD is one of Addonics family of
solutions that enables any 1.8" micro SATA hard drive or SSD to be used like a
removable drive cartridge. Designed to mount inside a standard 3.5" drive bay,
this Micro SATA UDD can be connected to a high performance SATA port or a USB
2.0 port inside the computer. Once installed, any 1.8" Micro SATA hdd or SSD can
be insert or remove from the system via the drive slot opening in front of the
UDD, similar to inserting or removing a PCMCIA device. Also available in dual
slot version to accommodate two 1.8" Micro SATA drives at the same time from a
single 3.5" drive bay.
When
using SATA connection, the optional Addonics CipherChain can also be added to
secure all the data in the micro SATA drive with bullet proof hardware AES
256-bit encryption.
